POSITION:    COMPANY DRIVER

Location: Plot 6, Ojara Close, Mbuya

SUMMARY:

S-Line Motors LTD is seeking a responsible, safety-conscious, and reliable Company Driver to support our operations. The role involves transporting customer and company vehicles to and from the workshop for repairs, servicing, or delivery, as well as providing safe transportation for school-going children where necessary. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, excellent driving skills, and a strong commitment to customer service and vehicle care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Vehicle Transportation & Handling:

• Safely transport vehicles to and from customer locations, suppliers, and the workshop.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip visual inspections of all vehicles and report findings.
• Drive various vehicle types (including automatic/manual transmission) with care and competence.
• Prevent damage during movement, handling, and parking of customer vehicles.

2. Vehicle Condition Documentation:

• Record mileage, fuel levels, and any visible damage or operational issues before and after trips.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and submit timely reports to the Service Advisor or Manager – Finance & Administration.

3. Safety & Legal Compliance:

• Observe and comply with all traffic laws, vehicle regulations, and safety protocols.
• Keep updated on road rules and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ensure passenger and vehicle safety at all times during operations.

4. Customer Service & Representation:

• Act as a courteous and professional representative of S-Line Motors when engaging with customers or external partners.
• Assist customers with inquiries related to vehicle pickup or delivery.
• Treat each vehicle with respect and deliver it in the same or better condition than received.

5. Company Vehicle Management:

• Perform regular checks on the assigned company vehicle, including tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and general cleanliness.
• Report any mechanical faults or service needs to the Manager – Finance & Administration.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is always clean, fueled, and roadworthy.

6. Route Planning & Time Management:

• Efficiently plan routes to optimize time and fuel usage.
• Use maps or GPS systems to navigate effectively across Kampala and surrounding areas.
• Maintain strict adherence to time schedules and appointment timelines.

7. Student Transport Duties:

• Safely transport children to and from school or designated stops as instructed.
• Ensure children’s safety during boarding, transit, and drop-off.
• Maintain discipline in the vehicle, monitor student behavior, and follow emergency procedures when needed.

8. Emergency Preparedness:

• Be prepared to respond to breakdowns, emergencies, or accidents appropriately.
• Follow company procedures for safety and incident reporting in all such situations.

9. Other Duties:

• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Service Advisor or the Manager – Finance & Administration in line with company needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent (minimum O-Level).
• Valid Ugandan driver’s license – preferably Classes B, CM, and DL.
• At least 2 years of experience as a professional driver in a busy automotive or transport-related environment.
• Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic offenses.
• Proven knowledge of Kampala and surrounding routes.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work may require early morning starts, late finishes, or occasional weekend duties.
• Must maintain high levels of focus, patience, and physical readiness.
